Starting it over AGAIN!!

MY THREAD BROKE AGAIN!!! Not that I'm surprised, it kept tangling and twisting and had broken a couple times before that, but this time it broke RIGHT after a ring and there was no way to start it again! This snowflake does NOT want to be made! I could have been done with it twice by now with as many times as I've had to start it over. But I will not be beaten by a pattern! I will prevail. I will start it AGAIN with a different thread.

  1. Have heart - and have you learned to cut the thread and add new on? Instead of starting all over again?

Sometimes it is just bad thread and you should change threads.

The piece I am tatting is partly done in white #80 which so far has broken 6 - SIX - times! But I just cut off the bad bit and re-start at a ring or a chain a few repeats back and it beats starting again!

    1. There was just something about that particular thread that was driving me batty. No matter what I did it was ALWAYS twisting up. It broke so many times and the last time it knotted up right next to a ring. I know how to add a new one on, but not the cutting thing yet. I wasn't too far into it, just staring on the second point (which up to then was the furthest I'd gotten). I've started again with a different size 40 thread that is working up nicely and not tangling, but I didn't make a join where I was supposed to and then I closed the ring and I can't get it out! I may have to try that cutting thing so I don't have to start AGAIN! :-)
